Stick a fork in Paula Deen — she’s cooked. Two days after the Food Network decided to let the southern chef go for using the N-word, a new report alleges that Paula allowed a relative to address a black staff member as ‘my little monkey’. QVC is reportedly not happy with the ongoing situation and they may drop her as well.
Paula Deen was dropped from the Food Network on June 21, after she admitted in a deposition to using the N-word and wanting to host a Civil War-era wedding party with only black waiters. Now, it’s being reported that QVC may drop the southern chef, too, following new allegations that Paula allowed a relative to address a black staff member as “my little monkey.”
Paula Deen: Allowed Family Member To Call Staff Member ‘My Little Monkey’?
Robert Patillo, an attorney of one former employee suing Paula, alleges that the chef’s workers told him that white staff are paid more and promoted quicker than black workers.
An investigation reportedly “found evidence of systemic racial discrimination and harassment” by Paula and that a family member consistently referred to a black cook as “my little monkey,” Robert said.
Robert was also told that Paula “preferred white and light-skinned blacks to work with customers.” Darker-skinned black people were allegedly ordered to
“back-of-the-house operations.”
This is so disheartening.
